Description
Koro Epoxy EXP-550 PRIMER is a two-components, solvent-free epoxy coating using Cycloaliphatic curing agent. It is a versatile coating product designed to create a smooth paint surface with a thickness ranging from 0.3 to 0.5 mm. It is particularly well-suited for applications in the food and beverage industry, high humidity environments, and clean areas where hygiene and durability are paramount. This primer can be effectively used to coat iron and steel surfaces, providing excellent protection and aesthetics.
Key Features
SMOOTH PAINT SURFACE: The primer's formulation ensures the creation of a smooth and even paint surface, enhancing the overall appearance and finish of the coated surfaces.
THICKNESS CONTROL: With a recommended thickness range of 0.3-0.5 mm, the primer allows for precise control of coating thickness, enabling desired levels of protection and durability.
IDEAL FOR SPECIFIC ENVIRONMENTS: This primer is especially suitable for use in the food and beverage industry, high humidity areas, and clean environments. It meets the stringent requirements for hygiene and moisture resistance in such settings.
COMPATIBILITY WITH IRON AND STEEL SURFACES: The primer can be effectively applied to iron and steel surfaces, providing reliable protection against corrosion and wear.
VERSATILE APPLICATION METHODS: offers versatility in application. It can be used as a thin layer roller coating system or spray paint. By diluting the primer with 5-10% (by weight of paint) solvent for epoxy paint, it can be efficiently applied using a spray gun.
The product consists of 2 components A and B in liquid form. Mix 2 ingredients before use. Once mixed, it should be used within the allowable shelf life. Beyond that time, the paint film will be less adherent.

Surface Preparation
-
Ensure the material surface is free from dirt, oil, and fluids.
-
Avoid painting floors that are less than 21 days old (at temperatures below 20°C and relative humidity below 80%).
-
Construction Conditions: Do not apply the coating when the ambient humidity exceeds 80%.
-
The material surface temperature should be maintained between 15-35°C.
Mixing Ratio
-
Combine Part A and Part B in a 4:1 ratio.
-
Add Part B slowly to Part A while stirring continuously for 5 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
-
Note: Avoid using dirty or old barrels for mixing the paint.
Curing Time
-
Allow a curing time of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Diluent
Use clean water as a diluent, adding 5-10% of the total volume of the mixture.
Application Tools
-
Suitable application tools include a roller or brush, as well as a spray gun (air/vacuum).
